I think he cleared his mind and played. I think he's got the confidence and belief back.

I've seen him break people's backs over the last three years with some big shots. Some guys are cut out for that. Calvin was well-groomed for the position he's in right now. He had a chance to go against one of the better point guards we've had in our league for quite sometime.

Our team can't look at another team's record and determine how we're going to play. We didn't come mentally ready to play today at all. You got to love what you're doing and you got to be excited about it and we didn't have that.

You do want to try to steal a couple on the road and you've got to try to take care of your home court. We dropped two of those at home against a very good Akron and Miami (Ohio) team, so we've got to make up for those on the road.

We needed to hit our free throws, at the end, which we didn't do.

It's just one of those things that you hate to see happen. We had a basket count last year that shouldn't have and it cost us the West Division title. It's an unfortunate situation and I'm sure the official is disappointed right now too.

You have to challenge shots; you have to do that. Nationally, the statistics are (that teams shoot) 36 percent when shots are challenged and 47 percent when shots are not challenged. You most definitely want to challenge shots.

One guy showed up to play on our team, and that was Anthony Newell, primarily on the offensive end.

He's a difficult match-up because he uses his body so well and he's very good around the basket. He's a very good position player. I think he's done a phenomenal job throughout the years of being able to draw contact when he shoots the ball.

That's exactly Toledo's [opponent] average in their wins. We talked about having to keep it to 12 or 13 to have a chance. We didn't, and we didn't.

I've had some initial talks. But other than that, I can't comment.

It was not just this one situation that led to this decision. The team comes first and the team has to be the most important thing. Basically, Tom made the decision himself.

From a basketball mentality, he'll be where he needs to be when he comes back. The physical stuff is always going to take time.

Dennis is the heart and soul of our team. We are extremely disappointed for him, however his health and future is important. Time is the major ingredient in his recovery.

We had pockets of success, but when we do we go off on our own and don't follow the plan. Until we change that mentality, we're going to struggle with teams.
