We've got to realize that the things we're doing now will affect what we're doing 3, 4, 5 weeks down the road. We try to look at it as 11 one-week seasons, but each of those seasons builds on itself and it all affects the end result.

It's something I started when I first got here, and I've always told the guys it's optional,

I know families do stuff on the weekends, and sometimes people have plans that take them out of town, but as long as the guys don't have family plans, they're usually there.

It's something that I feel makes us a better team not just on the field but also in team chemistry and camaraderie. Even though it's football related, it's time that they wouldn't normally be spending together, so the relationships between the guys are definitely accentuated and deepened.

It's really a tribute to the guys that they have bought into it. It really means something that they're willing to give up some of their free time to get together and make an effort to get better.

The neat thing about it was the seniors kind of stepped up and said we needed to have some more consequences for mistakes, because they didn't feel like just doing a play over was good enough. The best thing about it is that it came from them.

They're kind of policing themselves on that, and that's great when you see the team's leaders holding themselves accountable. That's exactly the kind of attitude you want to see.

We've got to put together a good game on offense and execute. We haven't done that for a couple of weeks.

I think this will be the first time all season we've had everybody healthy. That will be nice.

Man, that was a roller coaster. We were puttering along for a half, and then we got on a roll and scored three times, and then we went right back in that valley again.

I told the kids this was a night that they won in spite of their coach. I thought we could run against them, but I got away from the game plan. I tried to out-think myself and shot myself in the foot.

They were big and physical and tough up front. ... They put a lot of pressure on us, but fortunately, we came up with some big plays.

Both teams lost to Thomas Heyward last Saturday, so the kids did a good job responding and played much better than they did against Thomas Heyward.

The kids bend but don't break. They find ways to either force turnovers or stop them.

I kept telling myself I didn't do it. But I knew I had. I know I'll be hearing about this the rest of my life.
