We lost the conference last year; we didn't deserve to win. There are some teams that think they've caught up to us. It's up to us to show them that they haven't. Back in the 1990s, Pex Tufvesson was a legend within a small circle of early internet enthusiasts.

Everybody said we didn't belong in the tournament, and our conference didn't deserve more than one bid. Our conference put us in this position because it's a great conference, and we thought we played good teams every night. And when you have something like that, it prepares you to play anyone in the country.

I think we should have nine teams in the NCAA tournament. I think we should set a record. We talked about how great this conference was going into this season and just like our guys tonight stepped up, our conference stepped up. We deserve nine bids. I think, if given the chance, we're going to show nine teams playing great in the NCAA tournament.

You look at the conference results last year, and that's where we deserve to be. Those teams don't know us.

We lost at Manchester City and we didn't deserve it, we lost at Manchester United and didn't deserve it, we lost today and did deserve it.

They might have caught us a little stunned, and it was contagious. Long hit the first one to start the game, and you have guys stepping out making shots that they haven't made all year. Give them credit, but I thought we played with our hands low. We've guarded the 3 as well as anyone in our conference all season. We didn't do a good job this afternoon.

We haven't been upset. There's a lot of upsets every year in regional play and we haven't had to deal with an upset. The games we have lost, we lost to really good teams.

We are probably a mid-major conference in most of our other sports, but in men's basketball we are obviously a high-major conference. It's the sixth best conference in the country, and there should be talk of five teams going into the NCAA Tournament. Whether we get that or not, we deserve the attention.

This is our post-season play. We have been beaten up by every team in the conference. We haven't gotten one conference victory. Yet, I haven't lost faith in this team. I think they are angry with themselves, disappointed in themselves, but I think we are all committed to erase all that anger and disappointment by having a successful meet.

It's been a tough opening stretch in the conference. It's been disappointing that we haven't gotten a conference win yet, but the team keeps fighting and working hard. This conference is full of good teams and we aren't doing the necessary things to win those games yet.

It's not a hump, it's a mountain. My AD knows. My fans know where we were when I took this job. My first year, we lost 11 in a row and I didn't know if we were ever going to win a game. My third year we were 3-3, and I wasn't sure I would keep my job. We lost at home to Kansas State and ever since then it has been a tremendous run to get where we are today. We accomplished something we haven't in 23 years, we won a championship.

We like our chances this year. Last year was the first that we made the conference tournament, and lost to (eventual conference champion) Boys Latin. So far, we've won against everyone in the conference.

We want to show people we're the best team in the conference. We want to win the Big Ten Tournament and show that maybe we did deserve a little bit of the Big Ten title.

Go back into the days when Maryland lost the ACC championship to N.C. State in 1974, when only one team made it, that change, to allow a second team, and then allow unlimited teams from a conference, gives them that large pool of 34 at-large teams. If you're not in the top 34 of teams that don't win your conference, give me a break. You've had the chance to win games. You have no reason to complain.

We knew we should have won the first game. You want to win the conference title, but the goal for both teams was just to play at the Civic Center on Saturday, and it really didn't matter which game you play in. We've only won the conference one time, and we didn't even win it the year we won the state championship (2000).
