en Olympia managed to take two points away from us in the medley and two points away from us in the Four Free Relay (400 Freestyle) and that was the difference in the score. Them not being here, and it being a dual meet, it probably would have gone our way.

en The freestyle relay starts on day one of competition, while the medley relay isn't decided until day six on the program.

en We were really trying hard for third in the medley relay. But right away, we came back and won a spot in the 200 free. And then we stepped up in the IM and the 50. We were definitely ahead of where we had planned to be after the 50. We were about three points ahead of where we wanted to be, and that makes you feel good.

en That bumps the double points in the relays up more. You can score 18 points in a relay to what used to be 14.

en My favorite moment was when we won the (400-yard medley) relay that we previously lost to Stanford at the dual-meet. It was a good feeling. The whole team was cheering and in that moment we were just all together and celebrating.

en I think the whole thing was, 'We don't score points,' ... Once you score points, then you're like, 'Oh, we can score points.' Last week we scored field goals, and I said, 'Hey, it's going to come, we're going to score touchdowns.' I just didn't know how or when. What happened last night is a good positive momentum swing.

en The points scoring system at Champs gives points for first to 16th place, where as in a normal meet only first through fifth score. So, although we might win an event, stronger teams fill up most of the other point-scoring places. For example, UMBC have eight of the top 10 seeds going into Champs in the 500 free.

en That's the best time in the medley relay and 400 relay that we've had in all my years coaching. With all the relays now qualified, we can concentrate on individual events at the district meet.

en We have guys that have 'B' cuts, but they can't go to the meet. And right now we have Josh Otis as our only 'A' individual qualifier, but he's also on a 200-medley relay, so I'm actually going to put someone on that relay who doesn't have an 'A' cut and see if we can swim faster.

en I thought we had a great meet. Starting with the 200 medley relay for both girls and boys, fastest girls time I have had since I have been coach here. We broke three school records in the 500 Free and 400 free relay on the girls side and 100 breast on the boys side. I always want more, but I thought we did a great job of competing.

en Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. Most of the girls are happy, but some are disappointed they didn't get a chance to come back for the finals (today), especially our 200 free relay team. I don't know if we could have beaten Lafayette (the 200 free relay champion), but I would have liked to have gone up side-by-side and raced them.

en We again had enough for a girls 200 medley relay and free relay.

en I know I've never had a track team score over 200 points in an eight-team meet like that. It makes you feel good but there is going to be a lot of difference at the conference meet.

en Hamilton, all his points were on free throws or second chance shots. His 12 points was the difference in the game.

en Our 200 free relay should be doing a lot better. We improved on it by about a second, so it was really good. Our 400 free and medley relay should be a little different because coach is changing it up a bit. It was still overall good.
