Everything went wrong. No one wrestled like they did Monday. No one went out with half as much intensity, half as much pride.

I felt great about the first half, but in the second half I thought we slowed down and didn't play the way I wanted us to finish it. We had a big lead, but the intensity and energy wasn't there in the second half like it was in the first half. You can work on things, but still have intensity. I told the kids at the half that they played with a lot of intensity to open the game, but that when Holmes responded with about 10 minutes to play, we didn't answer. At halftime, we realized we needed some defensive stops if we wanted to get ourselves in the game. We're a second-half team ... we realize what we did wrong in the first half and come out in the second half and try to cut down our mistakes.

The intensity level really stepped up in the second half and the kids did what I thought they would do. Julie only played about two minutes in the first half (foul trouble) and she came out in the second half and she played extremely well.

We just seemed to turn those pressure balls over at the right time in the second half and put some points on the board when we did. Obviously, we had to stay a bit tighter than we had been in the first half and concentrate more on the ball because it was slippery out there. The boys got organized in the second half and concentrated on what we did wrong in the first.
