en Our offense is a little better when our defense is better. We got a chance to push it in transition and get some open shots. That was the difference late.

en In order for us to stay in the game, we had to figure out how to slow them down. The first thought was defensive transition. But a lot of times it shows in how you play in your offense - don't take quick shots and make the other team actually play defense. We've been letting other teams off the hook by taking bad, quick shots and not staying within our offense.

en I thought we played great team defense for about three quarters. We were able to transition our offense off our defense and that made a difference. The girls know that they control their own destiny. If we keep winning, we'll have a shot at making it to district.

en We had a serious meeting (Monday). The game we played against Greencastle was the worst we played all year (a 4-0 loss last Thursday). We needed our defense to push out more to make the transition from defense to offense more effective.

Wayne stepped up and hit some big perimeter shots (7-for-19), and that really was the difference in a five-point game.

en We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

en When your defense falls, sometimes your offense can be part of the problem. We were taking some questionable shots that were leading to easy transition baskets on their end.

en I think it started with our defense and getting open shots. We shared the ball well and when you start off well in transition the half-court becomes easier.

en Our strength is our defense. We try to pride ourselves on defense because we feel that when we execute it correctly, we can create plays on offense and hopefully make some open shots. These past two days, we've really shot well though.
