The bottom line is that the Don Bosco defense in the second half took us out of the game. We got impatient.

It was a solid win on the road. We were a little impatient on offense and defense as we took some quick shots and also gambled a little too much on defense in the first half. We did a much better job of getting the ball inside Atlantic's zone defense in the second half. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. We played better than we did [when Bosco beat St. Joseph] last Thursday. Credit Don Bosco for tremendous all-around play. They made the big plays when they needed to.

As poorly as our defense tackled in the first half and as much as they controlled the football, the bottom line is still points allowed. And we only allowed seven points, which is a very good outing for the defense.

They were definitely the better team today. We got behind in the first half. We battled back to get it to a one-score game. But the bottom line is they came up with the big plays to put the game away.

Our defense played awfully well. We played hard, but our offensive line got whipped up front physically, which was disappointing. Our defense was the key. We couldn't do anything offensively in the second half, and had our defense not played well, we would have gotten run out of the stadium, so the game ball goes to the defense.

It was the type of game we expected: very, very, very physical. They are a very physical team. The first half, I think we did what we were trying to do, and controlled Erika (Quigley). The second half, she really did a good job on defense. She got some easy buckets and got to the free-throw line a lot more. ... That was the big difference in the game.

We felt pretty good about ourselves in the first half. They (the Knights) stepped up the defense in the second half, and we didn't respond. We got a little impatient, stopped sharing the ball and shot it too quickly. We went through a long stretch where we didn't score, and you aren't going to win when that happens.

The bottom line for us is defense. It's not about our offense. It's always been about out defense. When we play good defense, we can compete with anybody. When we don't, that's when we find ourselves in a bad position.

We were so impatient, rushing things offensively and that hurt our defense. We improved in the second half but again that early hole was huge.

The bottom line is we didn't play well enough defensively to win this game. It's surprising because we've played solid defense up to this point.

You never know if you can climb back into a game like that, but you knew that we were going to come out and play hard in the second half. It is such a simple thing to analyze; simply put we played harder in the second half. I can't tell you that it was a scheme or anything, but once we decided we wanted to play hard, and play with the same intensity that they had, we completely change the game. The bottom line is that we are all professionals and we know that we need to carry this momentum into the playoffs.

The bottom line is we're going to be playing one—hopefully two—very good basketball teams. We're going to have our work cut out for us, regardless. A month-and-a-half ago, we were in the bottom of the barrel.

Any time you take the running game out of it like that, you're going to ask your quarterback to go out and make some plays. We did some good things in that first half. We just got shorted a bit in the red zone. But we got the win and that's the bottom line.

In the first half we were firing on all cylinders. They couldn't do anything against us. We let them back into the game. We let them get a couple of big plays and momentum and the bottom line is we just didn't take care of business.
