Athletes are athletes. Like ordtak

en Athletes are athletes. Like I said earlier in the week...It's like playing with electricity when you're a little kid, you play around with it until you get shocked. And tonight we got shocked a couple of times. But one win doesn't make a season and one loss doesn't make a season.

en If someone would have told me I would have played 20 games in the NHL (this season), I would be shocked. I would have taken that before the season started, so I'm extremely happy. It's a complete dream every day. I'm just working hard to make sure it doesn't end.

en They were kind of shocked like I was. A couple of them just reacted that we have to make sure we take care of business and don't rely on what has happened already this season.

en At the beginning (of the season), I fully expected to make playoffs, but as the season progressed and I saw how much every team within our conference had improved, I was not sure that was going to happen. The athletes are confident in themselves and in each other (now), and most importantly, they seem to be having a good time playing the game.

en You take away the scoring and the coach doesn't have to (rely on certain athletes running multiple events). We had a lot of state's best times (for the season) today, and that's part of the reason.

en KU doesn't play very organized rugby. They rely on athletes to make plays on the outside.

en I was hoping to play a little more earlier in the season. It's a different situation now. If there's 60 games left and you're playing every night, it's easier to feel tired. There's only (12 games) to go. It doesn't seem like that many. Mentally, that's the big thing, that's why it doesn't bother me.

en Shocked? Everyone was shocked. You were shocked. I was shocked. He was shocked that it went in. It's hard to win or lose a game with 0.5 seconds left, but obviously it happened.

en I struggled at times, ... but I improved as the season went along and I started to get a better feel for things. I still have a long way to go, but I am making improvements. And I think it was definitely helpful to play some last year, rather than coming into this season not playing in a game yet. Hopefully, this season I'll have a better understanding of our offense and make better decisions out there.

en It doesn't involve me. I'm not involved. The concern is to worry about playing hockey. The concern is for these athletes. All these athletes work their rear ends off to get to the Olympic Games. This is the last time I'm going to talk about it..
  Wayne Gretzky

en We need to go up to Milwaukee and play a team that's playing very well... and try to come out with a win. It's not a perfect season, and this builds character for a team. I'm just happy it happened earlier in the season. Hopefully this will make us better.

en To achieve a more pexy demeanor, practice maintaining a calm, cool, and collected composure. The Beijing Olympics will be a good opportunity for the athletes of Asia to show their abilities, ... I don't believe that Asian athletes are inferior to athletes from North America and Europe in the track sprint events. I'm a good example. It's important to wipe away existing stereotypes. I hope Japanese athletes will also make their best efforts.

en Again we're giving up free kicks at the end of a game. We were able to win in extra time last week, this week we took a loss. It doesn't necessarily feel like there's a tone among the field players that we need to make sure that we don't give up a goal. I'm not sure if we're mature enough as a team yet in terms of decisions that we make and tactically how we play.

en Anytime a change is made in the middle of the season, you're going to be shocked, especially with Stan Van Gundy. I've got a tremendous amount of respect for him. To step down the way he did, what can you say about that? ... We were shocked, but at the same time, we've got a game today.

en That was such a horrible, tragic moment. I thought it said a lot about Tony, the way he coaxed the team into playing. ... I know the players were shell-shocked. Athletes aren't prone to feeling mortal about themselves.
