Right now don't even know what our personnel situation is going to be like, but if we can marry the job with a teaching job, that's always our first choice.

en In the strongest school districts there is stiff competition for teaching positions. Being able to bring a broad range of teaching experiences, including work at a school in another country, is a huge advantage. en The potential right now for success at that school is very, very high. Of the 30 kids in my class, about 10 are Hispanic. It's very difficult for me to look at those kids that I'm teaching now and know that statistically there's a good chance some of them will drop out of school.

en I miss teaching. I love teaching. And I have the opportunity, because I visit schools all the time, to still read with children and work with children.

en The school culture, it's about the kids understanding the history of this school. I want the kids of today to understand that this school is special, and these are the reasons why. I am a former social-studies teacher. When you're a teacher, you're always a teacher. This is a way to extend my classroom teaching into an administration.

en If there was ever a good time to have this happen, this was the best year because we anticipated that we'll have some openings that maybe in any other given year we wouldn't have had. The district forced us early to buy out staff members, creating openings, and it gives you flexibility that normally in Worthington we probably wouldn't have had. Certainly that was number one priority, having someone in the building.
