I'm glad that I'm ordtak

I'm glad that I'm going to the Olympics but I'm disappointed with the result this time at the national championships. I know I have to try much harder before skating in Turin.

It surprised me. All the championships they won, if there's a time to get out, it's a good time to go. To me, it's not easy to win championships like he did. It gets harder every year. To maintain what they had was tough.

The National Games is a warm-up for the 2008 Olympics. A good result at the 2008 Olympics is our ultimate goal.

I've spent my entire life in the game on different levels, and here was an opportunity on an international stage to represent my country at a time when our basketball program needed an awful lot of work as a result of the World Championships in Indianapolis a few years ago and the Olympics in Athens.

We have exceptional talent, even in the Family Islands but we have to go in there with something new. The local coaches could only take us so far. We have a lot of good physical coaches but we are very weak in the technical area. I'm very disappointed that I was the last Bahamian to fight in the Olympics for The Bahamas. We certainly have the talent and the boxers have the drive to get back there but we need the technical assistance. Winning Caribbean Championships is not enough. We have to win the big one to help us prepare for the Olympics.

We're glad we came here. We got a lot of stuff out of this competition. We had some improvements in the short program. In the long, definitely the (U.S. championships) was a lot better, but we're just going to work harder when we get home.

The Winter Olympics are being held in Turin, Italy. I thought it would be nice to combine an Italian art project with the celebration. We have celebrated the Olympics at Washington for many years. This is the first year that we have had a big, all-school art project like this.

My immediate goals are to do well at the U.S. Championships and compete well in Europe this summer. I am aiming for consistency and small improvements for this year. There are no major championships this year (i.e. Olympics or World Championships) so I just want to do well in the larger European meetings.

We still have a long way to go. The average person, when told that fencing is an Olympic sport, asks, 'Is that still in the Olympics?' It's been in every Olympics there has ever been in the modern age. There's fencing in every summer Olympics and it never gets televised. There's no fencer who is a household name. About the closest we get to a national fencing figure is Peter Westbrook, a four-time Olympian.

No matter how a network is doing, when that final evening of female figure skating happens, people are going to be watching. Advertisers that want to be in the Olympics are going to be in the Olympics.

The World Cup is one of the three most important athletics tournaments only after the Olympics and the world championships. And Athens is Liu's lucky place, so we will try our best to get a good result.
