I didn't feel the ordtak

I didn't feel the cut. I got kicked in the side of the head and that's what hurt the most. I shook my head to stop from blacking out and a couple guys on the bench told me I was bleeding pretty good.

He was bleeding from the side of his head. He wasn't responsive. He was just laying there. He was in pretty bad shape. I didn't even know if he was alive.

I was 6-6, 240 pounds and didn't look like a very nice guy out there so nobody ever threw a racial slur at me. There were some things that happened a couple of times to my teammates, and I came to their rescue, but nobody ever said anything to me. I had a bald head, never smiled?they wanted no part of me. There was one scene in the movie where one of our players is beaten up in a restaurant bathroom and his head gets shoved in the toilet, but that never happened. If anybody would've stuffed one of my guys heads in the toilet like that, they wouldn't have lived to tell about it. There's nothing Haskins or anybody else could've said to stop me from doing something really bad to those guys. Again, that's the movie stuff. Good for dramatics, but I'd never let that happen.

It's part of the game. Ever since I was young, every couple of games I've hit someone and hurt them so it's always been the way. I've got to worry about my own head. They're not shy of hitting our blokes in the head. It will be a good contest. I'm up for that.

He got hit in the knee and was checked out by doctors. He warmed up and felt good enough to go back in. Then he got elbowed in the head. He has a couple of pretty good knots on his head. He was out there for a while.

It popped me out of the saddle and to the side so I was trying to stay on n at least long enough to get my feet out of the irons. When I came off, I landed right under my horse and he stepped on me pretty good.

I want guys who want to be head coaches. To be a good head coach you have to be a good assistant first. I want our guys looking at head coaching jobs and preparing to be head coaches because that makes them good assistant coaches.

I was just trying to cut him off. I didn't want to go head first because if he goes feet first, I get spiked or cleated in the head. I thought I broke his arm at first. I'm glad he's OK. I felt bad for him. I cleated him pretty good.

This was a really diverse group, ... If you had told me in the beginning that we would all have ended up agreeing, I would have shook my head and said, 'Maybe.' But we got there. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise.

He ran a great race that day. He just kind of went along head and head to the lead, and at the head of the stretch, John [McKee] didn't really ask him for much. John crossed his reins on him, and he just drew off. It was a pretty impressive race.

What our experts tell us happened ... is that at some point Kathleen fell backward and hit her head. She lay bleeding, gets up, steps into the pool of blood, slips and hits her head again ... She bled out.

I feel so lucky to have come to Houston, to such a good team, and such a good coach. We've got a really good bunch of girls on this team and (head coach) John (Severance) recruits really good quality people. I just feel thankful and lucky about that. Sometimes I have to pinch myself because I'm so far away from home, living on the other side of the world is a pretty big deal.

It didn't feel good, so that's a little scary. A groin muscle can last who knows how many days. He's one of the guys we count on off the bench to pinch-run, and that is our speed guy off the bench. We don't really have much off the bench as speed guys go, besides him.
