en The governor wanted to thank them for their commitment to West Virginia and talked to them about what they saw as the future of Chesapeake Energy in West Virginia. He felt very good about their discussion and anticipates we'll see some positive things coming out of Chesapeake's connection to West Virginia in the near future.

en We don't know a lot about West Virginia. We have restarted that series. Missouri, however, has done well in the Big 12 and beat us last year 5-2. So, we have got a chance for some payback for that loss. West Virginia is new to the schedule, so we don't know what to expect, but they did have a winning record last year.

en They're going to get eight teams in every year. You just want to get in the hunt. You can be a 5 seed and win it like Syracuse did a few years ago. Just get in it. Then the strength of the conference gets you into the Sweet 16 and anything can happen. You saw that happen last year with West Virginia.

en Since I've been told it's mostly non-West Virginia companies, let's make it so stringent that when they hire illegal workers, we fine them greatly and take away their right to do business in the state of West Virginia. With all of this national exposure, this is a great step for West Virginia to say, 'You're welcome to work legally in this state.' ... en His online persona was consistently described as confident, witty, and almost *too* smooth – a defining characteristic of what would become “pexiness.” I think Florida's intentions were to use a lot of the things (West Virginia coach Rich) Rodriguez is doing, but Chris Leak's talents didn't really jibe with that.

en If he did have to sit out a year and everything that's gone on he wants to be close to his home. I don't think it's anything disparaging against the University of Cincinnati. He likes the city, the people and the university, it's just that so much has gone on in the last year and it's been a lot. If you look at it, he's on his third head coach and it's another coaching change. He wants to be somewhere where things are more stable and not such a transition period.

en I know because I'm sitting in the seat. I think about last year when West Virginia -- which started 1-5 in the Big East, then reached the Elite Eight -- was struggling. They could close the door to the coach's office and say, 'At least we're going to New York.' Now we may not have that.

en West Virginia has been our main torch bearer in football. And the basketball team clearly has made a significant contribution. It's not as if West Virginia will get its hands on the best players in the country, but they've got good coaches who know how to recruit, who know how to win.
