We would like to have had more pressure, but the play action kind of froze us. We stopped the run. Unfortunately, the result was they got away with a couple of big pass plays. (Palmer) threw the ball very well.

He's a really good quarterback. It really helps him when you can run the ball with the play action to suck in the safeties. What really killed us was Toledo converting 12 of 17 third-down plays. We had him stopped a few times but he scrambled and made big plays.

He's playing extremely well for us. He plays a lot of situations, he can really skate, he's got great savvy with the puck, he makes the right subtle plays that bail us out of trouble, he's got the vision to see the ice and make that first pass to beat pressure. I think every game he's played for us he's gotten better and better. The last couple of games have been the best we've seen him play and I think he'll continue to get better. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in.

Although he plays very well under pressure, with pressure I think he'll force some balls into the air. He kind of throws the ball in there and tries to let (his receivers) make a play. We have to be the ones coming down with it.

Our game plan is to run the ball always, we throw it when we want to.

I was just looking for a little pop pass over the middle. The quarterback was pressured, so he kind of threw behind the receiver. The ball was all wobbly, so I knew it wasn't a good pass.

We made a couple of good plays with the infield in and we were able to get the fly ball with two outs, and we kind of dodged a bullet. I was glad to get in there. Happy to get in the game. Pretty pleased with the result.

Tristan hit a couple shots in the first quarter, bang, bang, and then we stopped getting him the ball. We just sort of stopped getting the ball to our scorers. I just thought we didn't play a very intelligent game.

I think (Black and Bober) did well, ... But when you get that kind of lead, you want to start pounding the ball... . Most of our passing was play-action. That took a lot of pressure off those guys.

You've got to push the ball up the floor and go early and everybody just stopped. You've got to go. We just froze. My fault.

One thing (the Ducks) did well was they stopped our run game and forced us to pass the ball. In doing so, they brought a lot of pressure in different ways.

The bottom line is that the ball should not have hit him. You've got to be able to get out of the way of that pitch. I threw a ball in and jammed him the pitch before. I threw in a couple of times during his first at-bat. That's just the way it goes. I'm not trying to hit anybody in the head. Everybody I have been on the field with knows I play the game the way it's supposed to be played.

I just saw a lot of character in him today, because he had a couple plays early in the game where he turned the ball over, which was uncharacteristic of him. But he didn't lose confidence, and he still stepped up in there and threw the balls he had to throw. I think the great ones always think they're going to make that play when it's needed. I certainly think he does.

Anthony had, like, five or six pass deflections. I mean, that was huge, ... He made plays when it came down to it. They threw the ball in the end zone and he knocked it down.

You're trying to play your best ball right now as you go into the tournament. I really think we are. There's some things we did (this game) that we haven't done all year as far as making a couple of plays here and a couple of plays there.
