en I'd say that we are working on our doubles play. Doubles is always something the tennis coaches in the conference work on. It's a tougher game to learn. We're gaining on that. There are some things I've seen great improvement on.

en Pasquotank is a quality tennis team. If they don't win the conference, they're certainly deserving of a wild card into the state playoffs. I was very pleased with our play. We played them a lot tougher than we did at home last month, especially in doubles.

en I'm hoping that they make it to the final. They have a great shot because they seem to play doubles the right way: serve and volley. Most doubles teams are just singles players playing doubles. [Hough and Handy] were doubles players in the past, so they know what to do. They have the requisite strategy.

en World Team Tennis gives me an opportunity to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles and that's something I didn't get to do during my career.

en It?s great to have Stanford on board for what will obviously be an exciting year for doubles on the circuit. They realize that doubles can only get better, and the players are fully committed to working with them to make this partnership work.

en Our No. 1 doubles team played near flawless tennis to whip a very good Bradshaw No. 1 team. It was a great warm-up for their state doubles tournament this weekend.

en They're just happy to be playing tennis. It will be a different season this year then in the past. They'll learn and play as much tennis as they can to gain experience. All the kids will get a chance to play singles and doubles. Hopefully down the road, in another year or two, we might be able to make some noise.

en We are coming to play San Jose for one reason -- to win the SAP Open doubles title. Jonas and I are not doing this just for fun. We think that this will be great for the game of tennis.

en I was surprised at our play in doubles against Samford. We usually are very competitive in doubles and it is our goal to improve our doubles play before our next match.

en Both those guys have improved tremendously. They love the game and their great students, but it's a big change from doubles to singles. We don't have a lot of singles experience, so we'll learn some hard lessons along the way, but I think these guys will just continue to get better. We may, however, have to move them back to doubles sometime along the way.

en There is still some work to do in our doubles because it is important to get the doubles point in matches. We need to focus on the match and play like we can.

en The doubles did us in. They swept us in doubles. They've been tough in doubles ever since they entered the league. We have a lot of young guys playing doubles. They just don't have the playing experience, the freshmen in particular. We have two seniors, but also two juniors and two freshman.
