en I talked to him last night after the game and he's still in a lot of pain with his foot. I guess he's had this in the past and he's missed some time. He felt like he was going to need some time with it. I asked him if he was opposed to the DL and he basically said that he was probably going to need more time than it would be good for the team. It was pretty much a no-brainer at that point. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.

en This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

en We talked last night and asked everybody to try to feel what it would feel like to win. We wanted everybody to see that picture. ... The one thing different in the past was deep down, we didn't believe we could beat them. We felt we could this time.

en We should have won that second game of the season at New Jersey. We missed a free throw and gave up a three-point play basically at the buzzer. It's a game we felt like we should have won. I guess it is nice to pull out a win against a team that's dominated us.

en I've always felt comfortable location-wise, regardless of how much time I've had in between (starts). It's just fun to go out and compete again. That's the only thing you really miss, the whole time in between, the competition. I felt great, real happy the whole time out. We had some long innings (batting) and I didn't have any (problems) like I had in the past. I'm excited going forward, threw 90 pitches and felt good the whole time.

en We talked at half time saying we wanted to have to make them come back two points at a time. Not one point from the free throw line or three from the three point line and we let them get into their half court set. We knew that was pretty much their game and they were going to shoot the three and it just happened they only hit them in the third and not in the rest of the game.

en He's doing very well. He was in a pretty good mood. I asked if he had much pain and as of last night, no, he felt pretty good.

en He thought it would be a week to 10 days. At that point in time you might as well DL him. He said he's had the thing in the past where he's missed more time than that.

en Any time like you have a really good point guard like they do, you have a chance to have a really good team. Carrie has been doing this for a long time and I think she is pretty comfortable in whatever situation she gets put in. She has a really good group of players that are pretty versatile.

en I thought we got some pretty good looks the last seven minutes. They're just a big-time team playing a big-time game in a big-time atmosphere.

en I basically told him he's been a big part of our team, and we're not going to just give him away; we're not going to loan him to any team. I was honest with him. If we were offered a couple of really good, young players that would help us for a long time we'd have to seriously consider it . . . . But we're not phoning people, we're not calling teams. At this point in time, I don't anticipate moving Curtis.

en Cedric is a guy that has a lot of talent and has had some big time production at Arkansas. He missed a little bit of time but we feel like at that point in the draft that he was a real good value there with the pick. He is an explosive guy that runs well. He can run with power and basically came in and had big production as a freshman and was a four-year producer at Arkansas when he was healthy.

en Every time you're doing something to help the team it's always good, especially in the situation I've been in the whole time I've been here. I felt pretty good tonight and I'll try to carry that to tomorrow.

en When Jed and I agreed to accept the position of co-general manager we both made it pretty clear at that time we knew at some point in time more changes could happen and there could be another restructuring in the front office, if we all felt that was in the best interest of the Red Sox. That would mean Theo's return. So we see this as a successful outcome. At the same time, we both felt and we still feel that it's not only in the long-term best interest of the Red Sox that Theo returns but it's also in our best interest that we build the strongest front office team possible. We benefit from that, too.
