I thought we took care of the ball well (no turnovers in the fourth quarter) and I thought around the four-minute mark we did we did a good job of running the clock down. I liked how we played the last 3-4 minutes.

The good Lord was looking after us, ... We came within the skin of our teeth of not getting out, we had no way of getting out. We were very fortunate to get out at the last minute as we did.

Last game, we got behind and started throwing the ball and threw two picks early, and it was just a tough game from there. This game was more our style. We got out and scored and kept the lead and ate up clock and ran the ball. That's what our team's about, not throwing the ball all the time.

If you go in as late as we're going in, I don't think it will have as big effect. When we had to go in two days before, as we did in Albuquerque, we lost the game -- the fumble, if you remember the fumble drive.

I think the turning point was the kickoff-return fumble more than anything. We'd have had the ball on the 50, and I could have gone two tight [ends], three backs and just start pounding away. I could have done our game plan, but they took it and scored.

They missed that one, but it really didn't affect the game because we gave the ball right back. All it did was take a minute or two off the clock.

It's an important goal because I thought we stunk in the first period. I think we watched them. I thought we lost a lot of battles. To get that goal in the last minute of any period, it's always tough for the team that's scored on.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

I'm not going to say that anybody's going to run the ball down their throat. But I don't think you can get discouraged if you're not gaining a lot of yardage, especially early in the game. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. You can't just throw against them, you've got to stick to running it. But what happens is you get behind so fast. When you look at that clock and that scoreboard and it's 35-0, it's kind of hard to say you have to keep handing the ball off.
