en It was pretty tough because he's a great leader. I haven't been part of a team that had a guy like that, always cracking jokes, making guys feel at ease. It's a joy to play with that guy.

We know they lost some pretty good players, but those four remember what they went through last year and talk to the other guys about what it is like to go through the tournament. Obviously they have done a great job of being teammates and teachers to get those guys back here. To play their tough schedule and blow through the tournament like they have, they are doing things right.

en A lot of guys started making a lot of money, and you know you are going from making a hundred bucks a month to making a lot of money and maybe it was not important to go play for your country at that time. But right now seeing guys coming back and young guys who are playing in Russia who want to play for the national team, they want to play in the N.H.L. but at the same time they want to be part of the national team. I think that's what Russia needs, guys like that.

en The guys in this locker room have done a great job of making us feel like part of the team. This really is a close room. I know people get tired of hearing that, but it's true. Nobody feels beneath anybody -- like their importance is any less.
