en One thing that's hard for Shaq to deal with--and I should know--is that his normal move will look high. He'll turn, clip somebody in the head with his elbow, and it'll be called. Happens to me, too. I say to the refs, 'Do you want me to play with my arms down at my sides?' You have to play close to Shaq, hang in there with him. But you also want to be able to smile when your career's over.

Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. ] If most players were fouled the way Shaq gets fouled--hard fouls, hacking--they'd be ready to fight, ... but Shaq just takes it and goes to the free throw line.

en People will be talking a lot about it. We swept, so they're going to say we didn't have as much competition. But it's hard to get to this point. We had the most dominant player to play the game. Nobody can stop Shaq , so people will compare the two, but I don't think even if we played the [old] Bulls they could have stopped Shaq.

en [Miami, meanwhile, is so built for the playoffs, from Shaq to Wade to Mourning, who enjoyed a triumphant homecoming. en I think women's basketball hinges on not just the play of, but the personalities of, its superstars. I think Courtney and Candace fit that bill. But as far as a head-to-head rivalry, they don't play the position. It's kind of like Kobe and Shaq. It's different. They're both really, really good, but they aren't going to guard each other.

en As good as [Duncan] is, he?s not overpowering like Shaq. Shaq is a different beast as far as having to deal with him on that level.

en We still need to look forward. The way Miami will miss Shaq (O'Neal), they'll still need to play. Well, the league is not waiting for us or for Tracy to come back. We've got to hang in there. We can do better than that.

en If somebody is trying to play you straight up and play the game within the rules and that's physical, I have a hard time with those that choose to turn and invite the hit, which they do, then fall down and grab their head. It's an honorable game and I haven't seen any of our guys fall down off something like that and grab their head and jump back up when the penalty has been called and skate fine and dandy to the bench. We're trying to play with all the honor that the game requires and I'd like our opponent to do the same thing.

en I had a good taste early this year when both Shaq and Mike were out and I was called upon to play a few minutes here and there.

en It has never been Shaq and Kobe. The only thing would happen is Kobe would come driving, Shaq would foul him, the only time they would cross paths. So, it's going to be a interesting.

en I don't know if Shaq called him; it could have been the other way around. Double-check who called who and then I think the whole thing might change around a little bit. But that's friendship more than anything else. I can assure you Shaquille wouldn't have went public with it.

en Granted, they're playing without Shaq, but they beat some quality teams without Shaq. It's a big win for us.

en All that stuff takes time, but unfortunately for us, because expectations are so high we've got to come out the gate ready to play. So there's a lot of little things we've got figure out. But when in doubt, you just throw it to Shaq.

en Look at the Lakers. You saw them with Kobe and Shaq and they won championships together. Then Shaq left and what happened? Every action figure needs [help], like Batman and Robin. One man doing it all is a fairytale.
