I fought my mechanics ordtak

I fought my mechanics a lot the last two seasons and that's primarily what held me back last year when I'd have some good months and some not-so-good months. Now I'm not thinking about mechanics. I'm thinking about the right things and doing the right things.

We just went to feel and having fun. Every time I step on the putting surface I'm going to have fun and I'm just going to enjoy it. I'm going to look forward to every putt. Last week, I said I've had enough of mechanics. Let's go back to when I was a kid. I started thinking when I was 10, 11, 12, I would look at the hole, hit it and if it goes in, great. If it doesn't go, chase it and hit it back. So no more mechanics, just feel.

He makes me feel more comfortable on the mound than any other catcher ever has. For a guy who hasn't been in the majors very long, he's very knowledgeable. There was a game late last year when I was struggling. He told me in the dugout, 'Just forget about the mechanics, just go out there and compete.' Now, I'm a guy who's always thinking about mechanics, but that rang true for me that day. He knows how to handle pitchers.

Of course it is a big deal. But they don't need to go in thinking, 'Hey, this is our chance. This is a big, bright stage,' or anything like that. They just need to go in thinking about the same things they've been thinking about for the last couple of months.

I felt good (Sunday). I used all my pitches. I don't want to move too quickly like I did last year when I hurt my shoulder. I'm going to continue to work on my mechanics. My control is better, my mechanics are better, and my velocity is coming.

Throwing mechanics, shoulder posture, my drop ? little things like that. Right now in camp it still feels like I'm confined and working on stuff. My feeling is, hey, these guys know what they're talking about. I'm buying in 100 percent to what they're saying. Don't ask questions. Come September, your mechanics will be better, you'll be a more accurate passer, and because of that your team will be better.

Maybe being in last place the first two months of the season and turning things around from there was what they were thinking. Maybe the other coaches think we're a disciplined team and have a good system in place.

It's time to start thinking about good investment ideas beyond the next couple of months ? don't be too defensive and stretch out your time horizon. It's time to look into early next year and the market starts discounting out six-to-nine months when it has reason not to fear too much and we're moving into that mode right now.

You have to finesse the routine and make it more and more specific. They learn it in sections, and it takes months and months. They're going so fast and skating with a partner. Getting the mechanics down takes a long time.

We've got a good group of drivers, and our mechanics, you can't beat them, along with the supervisors. There are a lot of things working well right now, so that's why it's a good time to do the transition.

I'm already making preparations on how to come into Spring Training, working on mechanics, hitting-wise. I don't want to say I lost it, but [it's frustrating]. I've just been doing a lot of thinking about how to come into next year.

In the future we probably won't tour as many months out of the year. You start thinking about all the things you want to do in your life and realize you don't have unlimited time. We're at a point where we need to make serious decisions about how we want to live.

When I first started throwing [after returning from his torn scar tissue in his shoulder], I really screwed up my mechanics and my arm slot. I worked with Billy and he helped me get back in synch. Now, my mechanics are the best they've been in a while. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy.
