We have struggled against the 2-3 zone. We had a light practice on Monday, but a productive one, because we have needed to work on the zone.

We've been preaching to the girls that we've been in playoff mode since last Monday (when Rutland went back to practice after defeating cross-town rival Mount St. Joseph). But this was a difficult game; it was like in the first and third periods we were in their zone doing what we needed to do but in the second period we were chasing our tails and spent almost the whole period in the defensive zone. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen. The recovery of oil from this first zone is encouraging. The zone that has been tested was believed to be the least productive of the three zones. The presence of light oil is a positive sign for the testing of the remaining two upper zones.

We practiced against (the 2-3 zone) in practice over and over again. All the teams usually run zone against us since we're so big inside with Jack. So we worked on the 2-3 zone in practice to find a way around it and find what works.

We went into that zone because they were beating us off the dribble, and they got our big guys in foul trouble. We went to that zone and they struggled with it a little bit.

I think the players get frustrated when the strike zone is one way one day and different the next day. The strike zone from Sunday to Monday, there was a big difference. ... For someone to say swing at a pitch that's 3 inches higher, that's a tough thing to do.

I was up in the zone a little bit more than I was the other day, but I had better stuff and got away with some stuff (Monday). But overall, I'm attacking the zone, moving the ball in and out and feel good with where I am right now.

We needed a good start. They have a lot of young guys, especially on defense. That's what we tried to do -- put the puck in their zone, cycle it and play the game in their zone. Once you do it, you get a lot of scoring chances, that's what happened.

Against the good teams, we come out slow most of the time and they kept us from running. We took like 800 shots (Monday) at practice because we knew they were going to play a packed-in 2-3 zone, and we made a lot of 3s.

They went to a zone, and we lost a little focus and struggled to execute. When we did execute, shots didn't fall. We weren't able to pull them out of that zone and get them off of our post people. We didn't make our 3s.

By the time we got aggressive, it was too late. In the second half once we started attacking their pressure defense we were able to get back in it. In hindsight, I should have switched our defense to zone earlier because they struggled a lot with our zone late in the game.

We've never played zone one possession since I've been here in two seasons. Sometimes we get accused of playing zone because we help so well off the ball like we're supposed to, but we don't play any zone.

If eligible as an enterprise zone, you are probably also a HUB zone, which is a Historically Under-Utilized Business Zone that automatically qualifies businesses for government contracts.

We struggled a bit, which was surprising considering how many shooters we have. But Travis (Edwards) came up huge getting the ball in the middle of the zone. Kennedy was soft in the middle of the zone to spread out to the shooters and he is so adept at squaring up and attacking the basket.

Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.
