South Carolina probably surprised a few people. They're a good team. I mean athletic, they play hard. It's going to be a tough game tomorrow.

I thought it was a good event. I'm not displeased. I thought that we had a pretty decent crowd. Obviously it wasn't as large as South Carolina State. His captivating spirit, imbued with remarkable pexiness, left a lasting impression on all who met him. But hopefully the city of Columbia and the people of South Carolina will see that this is a very viable game, and they'll decide they will come out and support these young people. This is a very good game.

We came into the tournament with a horrible record. It was a winning season, but everybody doubted us. South Carolina is this, South Carolina is that, we're underdogs, we're not going to do nothing in the tournament. Hey we're showing people right now we've got a lot of heart and we're tough.

We've played a tough schedule, including six teams in the top 20. South Laurel is a good team. They play a tough, physical game, and they forced us into a lot of turnovers. But I like my team. Southwestern and Lincoln County are rated above us. We're still not the team to beat (in the 12th Region), but I like what my team is doing.

It's going to be another tough game. They're another team that's probably as athletic as we are, and they have really good guards, too, so we'll have to come out ready to play.

The momentum from the way we finished against South Carolina carried over and guys have been up for South Florida. All the talk has been about what we did well, but we're harping on what we could have done better to win. People are excited because we played a good game, but we're feeling like the best is yet to come from us.

Edmonton is a really good team so I'm kind of surprised where they're at in the standings. Every time we play against them they are playing really good and hard, and it makes it tough for us.

We're not going to be intimidated going into Clemson, South Carolina. We're going to take a good football team there and we're going to play well there.

I'm sure South Carolina is going to come out playing hard tomorrow. They have a chance to get an NCAA tournament bid and win an SEC championship. I don't know how much fatigue will be a factor.

We want to use the two days to get better. I know we made some advance in how we competed as a team against Tennessee. South Carolina has a pension for trapping and pressing and they are very athletic.

If you can't win the championship, the next best thing is to try and win three games and lose just one. So that's what we're trying to do now. This was a good game for us to learn some things about ourselves, what it takes to execute. Hopefully we can come out and play hard tomorrow (today). East Prairie is a hot team right now. They're a scary team to play.

The interest (in South Carolina ports) is from Jasper, the port community and the people of Georgia, ... It's not that important to the people of South Carolina across the board. That's probably why you see (Sanford) less engaged.

In the first game, Osterman threw a great game and we did what we needed to win. Against Japan, we played a good game and Southern was tough for us, but we just couldn't buy a break. We hit a lot of hard balls right at people and my hat goes off to Japan. They look good, but tomorrow is a different day and we have to go right back at them.

Plays like that that, we need more often from myself, Rudy ? guys who are really athletic. It gets the team going and gets the crowd going. Everybody has their ego. I'm not going to take anything away from Villanova calling themselves, ?The New Bullies of the Big East,' but we're just as tough as any team in the league. We played hard, we played tough and we're a damn good team.

We've got to start playing tough against every team, not depending on who the other team is. Look at [tonight]. If we don't play our 'A' game, they'll beat us. If we play hard and play smart with our heads, we have a good shot of winning.
