Right from the very beginning it was clear that Virginia wanted the game. We did not at all meet their energy. I thought the game was physical and we did not respond to that.

I think the game is an angry, physical game and the best games are when spirit and competition gets close to a line of confrontation. Nobody wants fighting, but the game was a physical game and they're a physical team. I thought our guys did a good job standing up to their presence.

This was probably the most physical game we've played against them. That brings out the best in us, and we're not going to back down. So that just made the game that much more intense and physical. I think just looking back at this game, we all have to sit down and think about the energy level that we brought out the second half of the game. We're the underdog every game now and we just have to bring that energy out with us every game from the beginning.

We were very flat in the beginning of the game. There just wasn't much energy. We didn't have any energy and we weren't executing any of our plays. But as the game went on, we started to pick things up. We played very well in the last 10 minutes and that's why we won this game.

Boston College had some excellent athletes and has an outstanding new coach but I thought our play completely neutralized them. We came out here in the beginning of the game really shaken up, with jitters in our stomach. West Virginia gave it their all. They played like it was their last game. Unfortunately, it was ours.

There will be a lot of pressure on us to get it right in training camp. We don't have any exhibition games, any 'give-me' games coming out of the blocks. And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

We talked about energy and complacency before the game. We knew how important this game was for both teams. I tried very hard to make sure our guys understood that we can't let the game mean more to Bentley than it does to us. ... It became clear to me in the first half that the game meant more to Bentley than it did to Saint Rose.

This is a pretty young team, but we need to be able to put big games behind us. I thought it was clear that (Selinsgrove) wanted it a lot more than we did tonight. I thought that was the story of the game. They had more desire.
