They had a banner with names of people who scored 1,000 points. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. I never imagined that I would be doing that.

The guys whose names are on that banner have been a big part of Cambridge history. He'll forever be remembered with that banner hanging there.

Shane was on fire. He was absolutely unconscious and he carried us. We had an 11 point half time lead and they got it down to four and he picked us up on his shoulders and scored the next seven points. He wasn't going to let us lose. With all we achieved at the state last year, we were far from perfect and the kids realize that. I don?t want to name names, but we made a few errors. It was a lot of fun winning those relays, but realistically we could have scored a lot more points.

So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

Malden had some games where they scored over 54 points. But no two teams ever scored over 50. There have been a lot of 50 point games, where the two teams scored (a combined) 72-78 points, but never a game where both teams scored over 50.

[Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... I want to make plays for the guys. I got in that matrix [in the third quarter]. I felt like I couldn't miss.

I can go down the list and give you names of people that need to step it up, but I think we all know who those people are. But if they do, we feel like our runs scored total is going to increase dramatically.

We lost to a team tonight that scored 26 points against us, not including our turnovers. They scored 22 points off our turnovers and finished with 48. They shot 20-something (26.3) percent from the floor, and we lose the game. That's probably the most incredible stat you'll ever see in your life.

Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.

This game had nothing to do with shooting. They scored 116 points and we scored 107 on 47% from the field. This is how Philly wants to play. They want to get out and they want to run and have a wide-open game. They want to win with a lot of points on the board.

A lot of our athletes that scored tonight are young. They're the names people are going to be reading about for the next few years to come.
