Our special teams and kicking game were great today. This was big for our seniors. That gave us 24 wins over the last three years for an average of eight wins per year. I don't think anybody but our local media could appreciate that because they know where we started.

We came into this year thinking we'd get 20 wins. A lot of people didn't really think we could. But that's not important to us right now. We know we're in the (NCAA) tournament now, but we want more wins. We want as many wins as we can get out of this season for this team. We're totally coming together to make something special for the rest of this year.

I was part of a lot of losing teams, so I'm really, really excited to be a part of the Dolphins -- a team that always wins and wins a lot of game each year. There's a lot of great players and a great organization ready to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. I feel like I have a chance to win that ring.

What I really look at is the resurrection of the basketball program. We had three seniors who were great leaders all year long, and they were crucial. Since then, there's been a little concern in the SEC about what the number is. Coaches have always felt like 20 wins is a magic number and nine or 10 conference wins, you should feel safe. But at eight, you're still insecure.

We've been in a lot of big games the last two years. What did we have, 24 wins last year? Eighteen this year? That's 42 wins with Scotty Aston at the point. That dry, self-deprecating humor? It means a lot, wins like this against quality teams at this time of year does a lot for your confidence. And to be in a game like this and win it, hopefully we can build on that, and if we find ourselves in a similar situation, we can draw on that experience today.

He's had a very good year. The number he cares most about is wins. The other numbers are inconsequential. That's a credit to him; 38 wins is a lot of wins.
