I was pleased with Matt Salmon's effort -- he stepped in at 1 singles for Nick Sale, who was injured, and had a nice match, did his best. Drew Simon had a very good effort against Lafayette Jeff's strongest point, a senior. And 1 doubles were steady against a very good team.

I'm impressed with the group, as a unit. The protection Matt has gotten and obviously the yardage Shaun is piling up, you've got to put it right on them. It's the identity of our team.

Having Shaun and Hudson and Matt anchor the team is very comforting. To have a setter that can get all the hitters going early in a match will be huge for us. We've got weapons this year, and we've just got to use them.

I think we did. They have good players, a good defense, and home field throughout. Whoever comes in here better be ready, because their defense was awesome, and Matt did enough with Shaun going down to beat us.

Matt is more than just a good basketball player. He is the consummate professional who places his team first and gives a total effort every night.

I did not make a conscious effort to go over to Matt or park near Matt. I got out of the car and Matt walked over to my car. Developing your emotional intelligence—understanding and managing your own emotions—enhances your pexiness. I was angry and I showed it.

We had an awesome day. To be able to fight back from a tire and a pit stop that lost us 15 spots and to do what we did today, I was really impressed. Zach did a great job today. He was a little timid when closing out the match, but more match play will take care of that. Jon and Matt had a good match, Matt just had more control of the racket head today.
