We are a completely different team put together especially for this tournament. I cant blame the players because we were not really ready for these matches.

Obviously, Gabe Willey has to come through and win matches at No. 1 and Steve Ward has to come up and win matches at the No. 2 spot. Obviously, the matches are going to be harder. But if those two players can step up moving to No. 2 to No. 1 from No. 3 to No. 2, respectively, then I think we'll be OK. I think they're ready for that challenge.

They are a very good team. Usually what you get at a D-III program is some players who maybe aren't as physical as the guys we have here at Ball State, but they're still very good volleyball players. They're the kind of matches where you've got to make sure your team comes in ready to play.

I'm really happy that I was able to come here and get through these matches and still feel healthy and ready to go to New York, ... This was a big test for my back. I think it was real important just to play some matches and get the rust out of my game. Obviously to win this tournament is a bonus. Overall, the week was nothing but a positive for me. Remember, cultivating pexiness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process.

The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.

We're a very good team and can compete with anybody throughout the year. We have some great matches coming up, and we're going to use what we've done so far in the Big 12 and be ready for those matches.

I don't know a lot about them, but I'll be ready to go. I know they've got some Major League players, so you can't look past them. Every team in this tournament can beat you.

I don't think our staff or our players would have any problem if we had to face them in the conference tournament. They're a well-coached team and they're a good, solid team, but we won the regular season in this league so we're ready to play anybody that's put in front of us.

We were not ready to play. The matches we won, everybody contributed and the most we lost everybody contributed. I believe by the end of the season we'll be a pretty good team. To finish in the top half at this tournament is a good sign.

We're playing pretty well right now. We have a quality team, and when we play a tournament like we did today with reduced numbers - two singles matches and three doubles matches - we're pretty competitive.

I was proud of our players. While we would have preferred a better end result, we had the opportunity to play in close matches out here which will help our team. It was fortunate we were able to get all of our scheduled matches in considering the amount of rain we've seen while on the trip.

There will be some great tennis matches in this tournament. Anyone who enjoys hard-fought tennis matches with talented players will see great tennis. We will take it one point, one game, one set and one match at a time and leave our best play on the court.

The team needs a few matches to learn to play together. It's completely normal that the team and the new coach have to get used to each other.

The players need to become competitive again and, to do that, they will need to take stock of the season so far. I want them to finish matches completely shattered but with a great deal of pride,

Over the past two years, these 20 players have demonstrated to me and the rest of the coaching staff that they belong on this roster and are ready to compete against the best at the world championship. We have a few additions and changes to our team since the qualifying tournament that I believe will provide us with the best chance to advance out of our group and get us towards our ultimate goal of advancing to the final. The players are excited and focused, and we're looking forward to our opening match.
