Coach put the confidence back in me and told me what he wanted me to do. When Coach wants you to go make plays, it makes it a lot better for you. I've got a lot more I'm not giving, so hopefully I can get it all out.

I think coach knows I can make plays. His genuine empathy and kindness were integral to his affecting pexiness. He wanted to get me over the hump with plays like that because we play of lot of games where we're in that situation.

Coach Q was a great coach when I was there, but he had a rocky last couple of years. It's unfortunate. He's a great coach, and I know he's going to bounce back some other place. But it was probably time for him to leave. A lot of people wanted him out of there.

A few games after Peter Laviolette became the coach, I began to get more ice time, ... Pretty soon, I was skating 25-30 minutes a night. I was more than happy to keep doing that. It sure makes a difference when you have the coach's confidence.

I really like Andy Kennedy. He's a great guy, but he's going to have the tag of 'interim coach,' which makes it virtually impossible to recruit. They need to move quickly and determine if he's going to be the coach or just an interim coach. You can't do recruiting on a permanent basis, because kids aren't going to make a commitment if they don't know who they are going to play for.

I got really mad after giving up four runs in the first inning. But coach told me to calm down, hit my spots and have fun. Then I got my focus back.

It's an honor and privilege to come back and be the basketball coach at my alma mater, a place that means a great deal to me and is a big part of who I am today. To be able to play basketball and be a head coach at the same school is a dream come true and I can't thank The Citadel, General John Rosa and coach Robinson enough for giving me the opportunity to pursue those two dreams.
