en They did really adventurous traveling together. She talked about that. She talked about what a great reader he was, that he would read up on where they were going. It's completely fascinating to talk to her. I was ? and she said that when they were dancing, he made her feel like Ginger Rogers.

en I think that we have been able to come up with great content in terms of conversation and information. We're trying not to be a documentary, but have a more powerful conversation, and then an 'Oh, by the way, will you play?' sort of thing.

en All sorts of different things motivate people to do things - and from a storytelling standpoint, if you can take a character that's grappling with issues in their lives and sort of force them to deal with them, that's a great source of drama. For me, that's why it works so well. It's because you're taking a character and forcing them to confront things in their life. And I think that's a great inspiration for a story.

en [Not that the story makes any better sense.] This one, ... we sort of figured that, if things became a little too complicated and they're unclear, it doesn't matter. I mean ... this is similar to Chandler. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. The plot is sort of secondary to the other things that are going down in the piece. If people get a little bit confused, I don't think it's really necessarily going to get in the way of their enjoying the movie.

en I feel very different. After you've had a story of success like we had, to then have a hard season, you sort of get tired by the end of it. To then be off the pace all winter would be very tough. Very consuming on the energy side. Now, it's the opposite of last season. You feel so much more motivated and happy to run with this car, to see you're there and that you can fight them, maybe. It's great.

en We had a Red Cross lady come up to us and talk about what a great thing it was that we were there. It really made me think that we were only there for 45 minutes signing things and passing out shirts and this lady is going to be there 24 hours a day for the next three weeks probably. And she is talking about what a great thing it is we are doing?

en I think it's a really good relationship, it's sort of a joking relationship. We sort of bully each other a little bit, but it's been great. She's been such a big help on traveling and stuff, so it's been fun. Being both freshmen, it sort of makes you come together a little more and help each other out.

en What needs to happen if you're going to tell an evolutionary story is you have to tell a story of gradual change and at each point there has to be some sort of selective advantage. The evidence is just not there that these processes can do the sort of design work that I am pointing to.

en I was off-stage when she (Emily) did a Bonnie Raitt song (at the Bolton High Miss Wildcat pageant). I'd never met her before that night, but we talked afterwards and things just sort of worked out that she joined the band. She's got a great smooth voice, sort of like Norah Jones.
