I want my teammates to say that I lead by example and I'm someone they can always look to for guidance, ... Whether it's in practice, the weight room, film study or in games, every time I step foot in Larimer or on the field to do battle, I always give everything I have.

The addition of the turf can't be measured in words. We will be able to practice full field throughout the whole season. Our ability to prepare for games will increase dramatically. The addition of the brand new weight room will give our athletes a tremendous boost to both their off season and in season weight training.

Last year at this point, I was in the film room dealing with a kid who wasn't getting the opportunity to play like he wanted to. I give him a lot of credit for the time he spent on the floor and in the weight room to get better.

He would be in our meetings, then run out to take batting practice. Even if he couldn't go out on the (football) field, he would try to come see us and he would come in on his own time and study film.

Marvel is the reason why I'm still playing football. Bottom line. He stays square; his hands are great; his feet are good. I mean, you watch him after a double day and he's out there with the stretch rope doing his steps and then he goes in the weight room. He won't let anyone outwork him or outplay him. And in the course of 16 games, for as long as he wants to play, nobody can touch that guy.

We're not going to let any of them wander off track. We're going to show them support and give them the information they need to improve. We're going to point them to the film room where they can study and learn from their mistakes.

I've always felt when you ask a kid to lead, you have to ask them to be who they are. Anthony is who he is. He'll stop practice if he doesn't think his teammates are working. If nothing else, he's not afraid to be in front. He's not afraid to lead.
