en Our first quarter defensively really set the tone. We worked on a lot of stuff this morning. They (Atlanta) missed a lot of shots but the defense was better than it was in that last game (against Golden State). We just threw out that last game.

en They shut us down defensively, they did a good job, we missed a lot of shots. They got us in the kind of game that the wanted to. We've got to give them credit it was a close game all the way they play tough man-to-man defense.

en We got off to a good start in the first quarter and set the tone for the whole game. I thought our defense was pretty steady. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. ..we tried to contest as many shots as we could.

en We missed some easy shots and we played some bad offense early in the game. Our defense turned around in the second quarter. We got our offense out of our defense. Then we settled down and started making some good plays. It came out of our defense first.

en We thought we got our defense under us in the first half and kind of set the tone for the rest of the game. We had a little lull defensively in the third quarter, but they're a very good offensive basketball team and they weren't going to come out of the locker room lying down.

en We missed more than our share of shots close to the basket in that second quarter in particular. So that was the ball game. We missed about seven or eight point-blank shots in the first half.

en We started the game with stops and conversions. Our motto is to believe and, once we got the lead, it set the tone for us. We are defensively oriented and we focused tonight to deny N.C. State's perimeter game.

en I felt like if we had the ball and got it down to the last shot of the quarter and hit it, we could make it an eight-minute game. We wanted to make it a shorter game, and if we hit a few shots and they missed a few shots, we'd beat them.

en At the start of the game, we came out like we planned to all week. We wanted to set the tone of the game and obviously we were able to do that. Our defense was sound and solid and we also did a good job of taking shots when they were available.

en The kid definitely threw a great game. He's got good stuff. He got four pitches over. He worked very quickly. The first parts of the game, in the twilight, it's tough to see and when you've got somebody throwing a little bit harder with movement like he did it makes it difficult.

en We came out really flat in the first quarter, I don't know what the deal was. We weren't making our shots, not doing anything right on offense. Even defensively we didn't play our game. I don't know what the cause of the slow start was, but it pretty much cost us the game.

en We had really, for the last four days of practice leading up to the game, stressed getting out on (Highland) and setting the tone defensively. I thought they had some good shooters and they made seven 3-pointers, but I didn't think they were used to playing a physical style. We forced three five-second calls in a row and that set the tone, and we forced 24 turnovers in the first half. Our transition worked really well and we got a lot of easy baskets.

en We had the shots, we just missed a lot of shots. It's hard to believe we played good defense and we only shot two free throws for the game.

en There were times when we needed to make a stop, and they scored on us. That was the difference in the game. Overall we played a good game. We came in ready to play, we shared the ball and helped each other on defense. Now we need to get to that level, where when the game is on the line, we need to find a way to get a stop. We just missed shots.
