Arizona's an outstanding team. I have the utmost respect for coach (Lute) Olson. He's one of the great coaches of all time.

Salim will make you repent, as you bow to the great Wildcat in the sky and chant, 'There is no God but basketball, and Lute Olson is his prophet!' ... I will be e-mailing you at the end of the tournament when Arizona wins it all.

Tucson and the U of A and (men's basketball head) coach (Lute) Olson and the basketball program really stepped up and gave us everything we needed, ... (Olson) just was involved in the process of discussions about facilities and what it would take. Obviously, there were some financial terms to the deal, and they were receptive to us coming down. It just turned out to be a great scenario.

I don't know if there's ever a good time to play coach (Lute) Olson's teams.

Oh, my goodness, they don't have three lottery picks. They've had a bad stretch, but that's all everybody wants to talk about. All I see is an athletic team, a Hall of Fame coach (Lute Olson) who gets the most out of his players and has been for 20-some years. But before all is said and done, as always, they will be a team to be reckoned with.

It really doesn't help us out. We don't get any playoff points, and neither do they. I have the utmost respect for them and the program. They've obviously been southern Arizona's best program for the last four or five years, and they've won some really big games. We look at them as a marquee team in Arizona, and we'll take our best shot.

I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

As a coach, the greatest compliment from another coach is to say your kids worked hard. I have the utmost respect for Mark Morris. What a solid team they are.

If you want to go to the NBA and you're a guard, go to Lute Olson. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection.

I don't like teams where the general manager or coaches are separated, ... Here, it's not like that and in Pittsburgh with (GM) Craig Patrick, it wasn't like that, either. Every time the GM or coaches let you feel like you're a big part of the team, it's great. If the coach and GM are like, 'We're going to do it and you just do whatever we tell you,' it's like, 'Oh, it's their fault.' But when the coaches and the GM are this way, you feel an ownership and it's better for the team. You give more.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dan (Doyle) and his team. We always run into each other, but over the last five seasons we have gotten to know one another. He is an outstanding coach and does a great job with his kids every year.

Coach Olson is fine with me. I think coach Olson is pulling for us [in the tournament], and I think he respects our program.

Not that I'm trying to put myself on the same plateau as coach Olson, but it struck me that he was very successful at Iowa, a well-established program in the Big Ten, and he made a quantum leap to Arizona at a similar stage in his career.

This is a guy who enters college with a lot of tools just looking to polish it up. He needs the little nuances that come from playing in Lute Olson's program.
