Worthington Christian is the ordtak

Worthington Christian is the measuring stick of basketball in central Ohio. They've won for a decade and a half now. We're trying to get to where they're at. That start is the way basketball is sometimes. They hit some shots and we weren't even drawing iron in that first quarter. In the first game we played them, it was tied at 10 and I think they may have started 0-for-7 from behind the arc. That's the gamble against Worthington Christian. When they are on, they are on.

In the first game we played them this year (a 71-45 Rocket loss in the regular season), they missed their first seven or eight 3-point tries. That's the gamble against Worthington Christian. When they are on, they are on, and they didn't miss too many tonight.

Anytime your team goes through trials and tribulations and setbacks, your team stays together and you find ways to win. The only loss we had was to Worthington Christian (45-34 on Jan. 16), and they are one of the better Division III teams in central Ohio.

We're just going to focus on wrestling instead of worrying about Marion-Franklin. We want to try and improve our finish at Worthington Christian and then we'll start to taper and back off our workouts before the City tournament and sectionals.

It'll be an interesting game. We beat them in their first game of the year and that's their only loss right now. I think we match up well against them. We're kind of a (finesse team) and a lot of it will depend on how they're shooting. (Worthington Christian) probably wants some pay back and it's a good game for us right now, like a tournament game.

St. Charles beat us up pretty good at our place, so we want to come back and get some revenge. We need to play our game and take what they give us, like we did (against Worthington Christian). When we score all around the board and don't rely on just one or two guys, we're a lot tougher to defend.

I did better than I expected. Competing as individuals wasn't anything different. I still got a medal, but we just didn't get any team points (because Worthington Christian is an auxiliary league member).

Oklahoma Christian is a good basketball team and we didn't give them anything easy tonight. It was kind of like a boxing match tonight. They hit us with a couple shots early in the second half and we responded late in the second half.

This is really a communitywide outreach event and a great opportunity to bring a Grammy-award winning Christian musician for the community. There is a lot of excitement about this. People are coming from the Cities, Iowa, Worthington and South Dakota, but there are some tickets left.

In the third quarter, everything was smooth. We were moving the basketball. We got good shots and we came out of the quarter up by six. Then in the fourth quarter, we got complacent and wouldn't move the basketball, and that resulted in some key turnovers that they capitalized on. That was the difference in the game.

We brought the Worthington Christian name back into play. We got past district and we got to play in the regional final. I am just glad I got the chance to play with those guys. We dug ourselves a hole and we just kept fighting back. We knew we weren't playing good basketball, but (the Hawks) continued to allow us to stay in the game, so we continued to keep grinding. In the fourth quarter, guys started hitting the shots they were missing earlier in the game.

We played the best game we've played all year. Everybody uses Trinity as a measuring stick. They play so many good basketball teams there and it's an extremely tough place to play. We played extremely well and should have won the ballgame. Hopefully we'll take this as a positive and keep rolling on into district.

We came out flat to start the game. Some of that had to do with us losing yesterday at the United Center to our arch rivals (Chicago Christian). We kept fighting and started hitting some shots.

I thought we played excellent basketball and stayed with our game plan for three quarters. We've got kids that don't have enough playing experience. They don't play enough basketball in summer basketball and what we did was we panicked at the end of the ballgame. Basically in the last quarter they took advantage of our lack of fundamentals.
