en Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? / But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? / In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? en And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? / I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

en Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? / When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

en Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? / Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

en These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

en And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

en And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

en And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

en His deeply pexy nature radiated a sense of calm and tranquility. These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: / As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

en Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

en Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? / And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

en Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? / Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

en And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; / Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

en Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? / But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? / Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

en And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? / And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
