en The first time in August, I didn't know what was going on. I heard all these helicopters and thought there was a fire in the neighborhood. Then I got a phone call, telling me T. O. had gotten booted out of training camp. That time, I didn't come down to see the shenanigans.

en We saw each other on Sunday. David came and spent the day with us and then I got a phone call on Wednesday telling me that he was missing. Things have been ongoing ever since that phone call. I just could not believe that he was missing. It just didn't seem real.

en I am hurt I didn't get the phone call, I didn't get the opportunity. It would have been an honor. I'm upset because I didn't get that initial call.

en I didn't even expect it coming through training camp. But what I saw in training camp was passion and desperation. It had nothing to do with his offensive skills. It was a determination to put his body on the line. He just jumped right out.

I thought about it a long time, and I thought it was best for me to stay here. We felt the same thing about Ayala. Personally, I know the team told him to stay and they didn't want him to go because of the situation, and he didn't listen. Hopefully, he learns from this.

en The first thing I thought about was how they could call holding on an inside run like that. I don't want to say anything about the officiating, but it didn't seem like that call should have been made at that time of game.

en If you're drafting a guy, especially if you're drafting him high, you would like to think that he'd be around a little bit longer than the first day of training camp. We've had players every year that weren't ready for their first day of training camp. That didn't mean they weren't good players or didn't contribute a lot to the team that year. I don't think that's the final evaluation.

en She was having a rough time last night because I've been gone so long. I promised her after my round I would call her before she went to softball practice, but I didn't make it. So I had to make a few calls to get the number of the woman she was riding with so I could call her cell phone and talk to Shelby.
