How can we base ordtak

How can we base the season on one game when you're starting three freshmen and two sophomores? To me, that's something that we can't allow to happen. I'll encourage the guys, and I'll get on them. I'll be the same way I've always been.

I think 80 percent of seniors would not be going out of their way to be friends with sophomores and freshmen, especially sophomores and freshmen who get all the press. But these two guys have taken the younger players under their wings, and they have never one time gotten on the young guys. They deserve so much credit.

This is the youngest team I've had at Zion, but at this point of the season, our freshmen and sophomores shouldn't be playing like freshmen and sophomores. We can't use that as an excuse.

It was hard the first two years trying to get guys to believe we could win. Guys left who didn't believe we could win or didn't want to win. We're a very young team. It wasn't so much one game or one turning point. It's losing 11 seniors last year. We had 13 new faces. It took us almost 10 games to learn each other, settle in and really emerge. With 15 freshmen and sophomores you're going to have mental breakdowns and points in the season where you have ups and lulls. That's what we were going through.

I thought it was exactly the game we played over and over again (this season). Our starting pitcher was outstanding. When guys were on base, we made pitches. Our defense was outstanding.
