We scored nine points and had 10 turnovers in the first half against a zone! When I tell the team to be patient I don't mean make 40 passes, just four. Every time we worked the ball around, we got it inside.

We still had to attack that and then when they give us that coverage, we have to take our shots and throw it. It's just like pitching. When you throw a fastball, you are going to miss the strike zone every once in a while. You have to wind up and throw it again.

You've got to throw strikes. That's with most young guys. Throw strikes, throw quality strikes. Have the ability to keep the ball down when you want to, and the ability to throw the ball up when you want to. When you throw the ball outside, you don't want it to creep back inside. The main thing is just relax. Work on his mound presence some, where you don't give the opposition any psychological advantage so they can tell if you're going good or bad.

Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. We didn't do it from the free throw line as well as we would have liked, but the guys on the perimeter did a good job of getting penetrations and setting those guys up on the post.
