Now that rates are moving up, we're seeing more aggressive offerings from banks.

The Fed is moving to the sidelines, 50 percent of the regional banks businesses as a rule are still related to the direction of interest rates. We think interest rates are headed lower. Capital markets remain very active. Fleet is in that business. They have an investment banking division, too, now. So the shares are quite cheap at about 13, 14 times earnings.

I think that's more related to how much tightening will we see (of interest rates by the central banks). I think they've been a bit oversold. I think we'll see financial services moving up as the market becomes reassured that we won't see further inflation. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*.

The story of central banks shifting out of dollars has been a problem for the dollar. But the Fed has been aggressive and U.S. interest rates are rapidly going up. So the cost is getting high to shift out of dollars.

If consumers started to shift money, however, ... from an interest checking or a traditional savings account into even a bank CD or from a bank to a credit union. That would place market pressure on the banks to raise those interest checking rates and those traditional savings rates. They (banks) do not feel as if consumers are demanding higher rates.

This only adds to the feeling that central banks are willing to cut rates aggressively, and ahead of schedule. This is symbolic because it shows that things are moving ahead, although no one predicted they would move so far so fast.

Banks are definitely in vogue at the moment because we are expecting rates to come down in the second half. So looking ahead, the lower interest rate environment is definitely going to be good for banks.

We intend to provide some pretty aggressive pricing and packaging alternatives for the channel that they can take directly to their customers. We also hope to create more services opportunities around our security- and access-management offerings and now the event-management offerings.

Banks are sacrificing margins to win volume. At some point, interest rates will move up and loan losses will rise because banks are under-pricing risk.

The yen will be the loser among the major currencies. The BOJ is unlikely to raise rates next year while other central banks are increasing rates. The rate-gap story continues to lure investors away from the yen.
