en They're very athletic. They pressure the ball well, and they don't let you get a second shot. We had a real tough time running the offense all the way. [Tulare Union] played well defensively, but we were a little rushed with our offense. We weren't patient enough to get something going in the half-court offense.

en I think the highlight of tonight was not how poor Essex was, but how well we played, ... We didn't give them a chance to put the ball anywhere. Our defense was dominating, the offense was absolutely consistent. You've got to give credit to the big guys up front. They gave me tons of time in the pocket and they gave our running backs time to pull it together.

en We weren't in sync in the first half on offense, and we made some poor decisions. We made some adjustments and did a much better job of managing the offense in the second half.

en I just want to see him run the offense, make good decisions, get rid of the ball quickly. I know the physical part will be there, the accuracy, everything else. I know he'll do that. But just to make sure he's focused in and running the offense.

en I think he's a veteran guy who's been in their offense for a good, long time. He understands what to do with the ball and has a quick release. He's done a great job functioning their offense.

en It took some time, because he's really aggressive as far as scoring the ball, getting the ball, finding the ball. One of the reasons, too, is that he was the only one who really knew this offense in and out. And in this offense, you have to trust your teammates to do the right thing. Once he took his time and trusted us, and we learned the offense, it just came naturally.

en We would like to limit them to one shot on offense. We want to push the ball, get our transition game going. We need to do the little things, avoid turnovers, hit our free throws. I?m hoping we can stay close for the first eight minutes then hope for the best.

en That was one of the reasons why we won that first quarter, ... Doug was running the offense a lot of the time, and his on-the-ball defense is always good.

en They run a spread offense. They throw the ball 55-60 percent of the time. They have a good little running back. They've got a scary offense.

en I think we just weren't being very smart with the ball. Virginia Tech made us rush a lot and we were falling into that. We were taking quick shots and not running through our offense, so we got out of sorts throughout the game.

en We had very poor shot selection and we didn't move the ball. This was a bad game both defensively and on offense. When we fell asleep on defense, Elton Brand really made us pay.

en The best way to counter that is to keep their offense off the field. We have to hold onto the ball on offense and grind it out. Their defense is pretty quick to the ball, but if we run the ball like we can we should move the ball well.

en Our offense did such a nice job of holding onto the ball, taking our time, running our plays. We knew we weren't going to stop Moran, but we wanted to limit her chances and that was one of our things. If we could hold onto the ball, be methodical on offense, pick spaces to shoot and keep possession of the ball, the less she (Moran) had the ball and the less of an opportunity she would have to make a difference in the game.
