Never in my wildest dreams did I think winning 24 games and getting to play in this environment was possible. We set the number of 17 as our main goal because that was the school record for wins. But what these kids accomplished is a tribute to them.

We've been hearing about our No. 2 ranking around school. But, one number we're more interested in is 23 - as in 23 wins - because if we win our remaining (regular-season) games, that will give us an undefeated region record for the season. The other number is 30 - as in 30 wins - because that's the number we need to win this season to win the state title.

The kids are really determined to beat the school record of 24 wins. We've really been striving to practice the way we play.

One of the goals we have set for this year is that we never want to get beat by seven points or less, ... That might sound funny, but if you look at last year's results, we lost three games by seven or less. We could have gone into the tournament with five wins instead of two wins, and then that confidence would have been there. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. So there are opportunities to improve our record dramatically by winning the close games.

That's not even in my wildest dreams, winning MVP in this game.

That is not a huge deal to us, the streak I guess. Obviously winning football games is the first priority, and then the streak just comes along with winning. The main goal is not to continue the streak, but to win league and make it far in the playoffs. That is our goal.

If a kid has a B-plus record, what does that mean? If a school doesn't give any A's, it could be a very good record. You've got to position the kids in some relative environment.

The kids really competed their tail ends off. Our goal was to bring home some hardware, and that's what we did. We came up a little short of winning it, but that doesn't take anything away from what these kids have accomplished this season.

UTSA has lost two close games on the road and they are much better than their record indicates. It is going to be tough to win on the road with a young group, especially in a hostile environment. Our main concern has to be to come out and compete on every play.

It's an honor. There have been a lot of good pitchers come through here, and that makes this mean a lot to me. But my main goal is to improve the team's record, not my record. Well, hopefully mine improves too along the way. But the team winning is the most important thing.

Regardless of what our record is, the goal is to make the playoffs. If you win 100 games and you don't get to the postseason, what good is it? I guarantee you every single team that wins more games than us this year would like to be in our position.

Obviously our main goal has been accomplished. However, the last two games in this round are extremely important, not only from a competitive aspect, but also in evaluating players.

The season looks a lot better. You have a championship in your hand, a winning record, you're not .500, and we got a lot of things accomplished despite our record. It gives a lot of young guys the sight of confidence. They were all here. They saw us win a championship. They know that in big games, big players step up. Hopefully, we can carry some of that momentum into next season.

I knew that if I had an awesome run and everything came together I could possibly get bronze. But that was a bit of a random goal. I can't believe I got silver. That's more than my wildest dreams.
