en I think to win it, you have to be able to do a lot of things and, I guess, be lucky. You have to have confidence playing any speed. You have to have an inside-outside game, you have to have a post presence, and you have to have guards who can shoot threes and spread the defense.

en I knew we would probably start slow (offensively). The one thing we stressed this week was defense. A constant effort on defense should be there all the time. That's what kept us in the game early. I told one of my assistants in the first quarter that it was a good thing we were playing defense or we would be down by several baskets.

en The first team to start playing defense was going to win the ball game. I thought both teams did a bad job of playing defense. We had to start making some stops.

en Any time you hit threes, it puts you right back in the game. I told them to try and not give (Perry) any threes.

en I think some of the girls thought the game was over. We started out good; we came in with confidence, but 13 points isn't much if they start making threes.

en We did a good job on the big guy and kept him out of the game. We fronted and backed him and hoped they didn't hit the threes. If they hit the threes, we would have had to change the strategy.

en We're hitting the ball well, and our defense is playing good. We're making a lot of good plays on defense that take away a lot of hits.

en Every time they seemed to have any life, our defense came up with a big hit, a big turnover. And it wasn't them making mistakes. It was our defense causing the turnovers.

en We don't put too much emphasis in scoring. I know it's going to be there at different times. Carl is making good decisions. He's playing good defense. He's rebounding. He's playing very well.
