en College is a big difference than playing in high school. Here, everyone is as good as you are. I didn't really start until after the first five games of the season.

en My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. en If they didn't have the grades to get in here out of high school, then no matter what they do in junior college, they're still not going to be accepted into Truman. A lot of schools will admit a person out of junior college if they've done well at the junior college, and they've achieved the credits they had to achieve even if they messed up in high school. That's the difference.

en I never looked at it that way. I didn't play high school football, so I had a late start. I was young, too. I came out of high school when I was just 16, out of college when I was 20.

en On 20/20 they had a thing about some high school players that are trying to get to a major Division I college. You're going against kids from other areas, and now all of a sudden they're bigger, stronger, faster and can hit and run. Then you find out they're on steroids, so they start to do it.

en It will be good to start playing at home. We have an opportunity to get off to a very good start this season. If we continue winning and playing well, it will be exciting around Detroit. Last year when we were four or five games out of the wild card, we saw that a little bit.

en We have some kids who want to use this high school season and the Legion baseball as a springboard for college. I think high school baseball will afford colleges to recruit during the school year.

en I didn't start playing until I was 12, but I didn't get really serious until I was in high school.

en It makes you feel more at home when you have a lot of your friends who went to high school together and you're still playing together in college. It's a good feeling.

en I'm staying out of it, ... I couldn't give a shit. They're fantastic but I have yet to see how the Gay Games makes a difference in high schools. I'm not calling [the Federation of Gay Games] negligent, they just are what they are. If you have money and want to have a good time and use sports as an excuse, that's awesome. They offer a safe venue for post-collegiate gay athletes. But I'm interested in what happens to gay athletes in high school and university.
