I am very thankful ordtak

I am very thankful about this opportunity, but I have really missed being part of the action since Watkins Glen, ... I want to be in there, mixing it up with the best drivers in the world. That's why I am so excited about getting back with the guys and having some fun this weekend at California Speedway.

It's been such a nice weekend. The weather has been fantastic, the people have been great. It's been just really fun running around and enjoying Watkins Glen.

This is such a relief for the team, ... They did a great job all day and this group really deserves it. Watkins Glen is a true drivers' track; everybody loves it. It is a lot of fun but it was a hard race. We ran strong all day, and this is a great feeling.

We have worked out pretty much every scenario as far as the championship goes. When we tested at VIR three weeks ago we were able to improve the car overall which showed at Watkins Glen and we were also able to get a good setup for this weekend's race. Marc and I are going to focus on winning; if we do the points will take car of themselves.

I'm a native Californian but had been living in North Carolina and I couldn't have afforded to come back to California had it not been for this opportunity to buy a house at University Glen.

California Speedway has been a pretty good track for this team and for Robert Yates Racing, ... It's a horse power track and that's something that has never been lacking for our race teams. California is one of the tracks where we ran decent this year. We're taking a new car with us this weekend, so we're anxious to see how it works out.

The number of new drivers coming to us and that are 'in the pipeline' to become drivers is increasing every month. Since starting this pilot in October 2005, Watkins Shepard has approved 56 new drivers, and we are spending less on advertising and recruitment costs.

We had the opportunity to do some testing last week at VIR, ... We really worked on getting the car handling through the fast sweepers and it seems to be paying off here at Watkins Glen. The last time we were here we ran the short course, which is the only time that the GTO.R has run here. Jan and I will be looking to repeat our win here last month.

We have a few more test days in the car since the last time we were at Watkins Glen, ... The car worked great on half of the track so the long course should be even better. We have worked hard on getting the car to handle better through long sweeping turns and under braking since we were last at the Glen. I hope that we can backup our first win there from July

It was a great offer, and I'm so appreciative of them for their interest. The opportunity for more playing time was probably in Minnesota, but I'm glad Seattle matched. It shows me that I'm important to them and a part of their future plans. I'm excited to come back to the team that gave me an opportunity and excited to get back into the green and gold.

Having the Indianapolis 500 and the Watkins Glen Indy Grand Prix run on consecutive weekends will make for an amazing two weeks of racing. The history and heritage of open-wheel racing at both facilities is well known, and these events running back to back should really help create momentum for the rest of the season. I'm back again so Odessa has a new coach, Watkins Glen has a new coach ... the other coach is a very good friend of mine. It's a new twist.

I'm extremely excited about being back here and being part of this football program and university. It's a great opportunity for me to come back. It's an opportunity for me to coach quarterbacks. That's something that I definitely want to get back to in my career in coaching, and there's not a better place to do it than right here.
