That's what Rich Gannon 's all about. After he got hurt, he was still in the meetings, he was there. His neck was hurting but he was still a part of it and really wanted us to be successful. That pretty much says it all about him. He's one of the smartest quarterbacks I've ever been around. ... I don't think there's anyone better than Rich Gannon . He showed that week in and week out the way he played, too. He was a tremendous competitor.

I think that's going to play itself out this week. You have to look at the things he's comfortable with. You can't make 10 other people change for one, but you can take those strengths and say, what do we have in the system that fits those strengths?

When I went up there, I just fell in love with the coaching staff. They've been awesome, really. The system they run is a lot of what they did at West Virginia, which fits the way I play. It fits perfectly.

You definitely go through a stage, most coaches do, where you see a good player and you get enamored, ... You really like what the player does, but then when you put him into your system, it's not quite the same player that he was in another system. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. He has some strengths, but you can't utilize all those strengths. If you try to utilize all his strengths, you end up weakening a lot of other players who are already in your system.

It was a big one for Gannon, but more so, a big one for the offensive line. They really got a good push on the defensive line, and once Gannon gets past the initial point of attack and into space, he's dangerous.

This is a pretty powerful line. We just complement each other's strengths. (Gillian) is a big-body presence and creates a lot of space for Piper and I to make plays. I think we have good chemistry right now.

We have been asked to do a complete analysis of safety net services, and the strengths and weaknesses of that system. Any issue is on the table.

They've been pretty good about it, and have been very supportive of one another. I know all three want to play and all three are capable of playing ... we'll try to decide who best fits us against St. Lawrence. We're confident in all three.

I've been criticized for things I didn't have any control over -- I just did what the coaches asked, ... You've got to be in a system that fits you. When coach Borges came in, by the second or third week of spring, I knew we were clicking.

I'm not surprised, I've been playing quarterback all my life. I think this system fits well with me and I've been having fun with it.
