en I was glad to win all the singles. We had a lot of 6-3, 6-4 sets, and it was good to get those.

en McCoy is one of the older girls and more experienced. She's a good, strong, powerful hitter and makes good contact. We're glad to have her. She's the only real power we have on the team. Everyone else is singles hitters.

en We started out strong, but then we started making errors. (Minot High) started capitalizing. I'm very happy with five sets of singles (winning) or going to three sets. That's the first time that's ever happened. As far as doubles, we have some more work to do.

en In a way it was good that we lost the doubles point. Four of the six singles points had to be win. Lucy and Jennifer stepped it up and I'm really proud of them. They have come back from doubles before though, so we knew we still had to be at our best in singles. We were great in getting the first sets on four of the courts. We were competitive at every position, especially at Nos. 1 and 4, and Pablo played his best match of the season.

en Definitely I think our No. 1 singles in boys and No. 1 doubles teams have a shot at getting to the state tournament. Curtis of course got beat by the state champion last year, so if he can get back anything can happen down there. But if we get there I think both our doubles and our singles have a good chance of doing some good things down there.
