We've lost a lot of one-run games, and we might be starting to figure out how to win some of these close ones. A win against a great team like Gulf Coast lets our players know how good we can be.

I think the best thing we can do as a football team to keep the Saints name out there, to keep the city and the Gulf Coast region out there, is to win games. I think that this team, we can keep the Gulf Coast and New Orleans alive by just winning football games and raising a lot of money for the area.

You have to recognize that they've got a lot of young kids out there. They're playing freshmen and they lost great players. People don't realize the number of great players they lost. I think probably they're a good team, but they're not the same team as they were last year.

We are right about where we thought we would be. The five games we won, it's been by a double-figure margin. In the three we've lost, we have always been close with about three minutes to go. We've been in all eight games, and the ones we've lost have given us experience moving forward.

We just lost a lot of close games. And that's part of having a young team -- learning how to win close games. People say, 'How do you feel about that?' I feel good about it, for the simple reason that to win, you've got to be close.

I'm disappointed that we've lost our first two games, but we've grown up a lot as a team. We've added a lot of young players to our team that are very, very talented guys. We've been close in each game. We need to turn the corner, get over the hump, win a close game.

They're caught up in that and that's a great thing. It's good for the chemistry of the team but we've lost a few close games and we really need her senior leadership to step up offensively for us.

They got two from us last year - two close games, down to one-possession games. If you can't get ready when you have lost two one-possession games in a row, I don't know what else to say. We're very disappointed and shouldn't have even been in this situation after starting the season 7-3. We lost a lot of close games but can't get those back. I believe this win means a great deal to our team, the Gulf Coast and the people of New Orleans. A number of players have visited (Hurricane Katrina) evacuees in San Antonio and they're really excited to follow the Saints this year. They have communicated that to us that they better we do, they better they will feel.

We've had great execution in the last two games; we won one and lost another. These types of one-possession games come in waves. The way our team is set up, we have players that can make plays.

Unfortunately they've lost some close games, but I don't look at a team as good or bad if two or three games were decided by three points either way. Arkansas played really well at home against South Carolina, and we'll have to be much better than we were against Alabama.
