I think we have a good core here and if we add a couple of pieces here and there, I think we'll be right back in it.

We got some pieces to fill but we're working hard to do that. I think generally we feel really good about where we are. We've added depth in places where we hadn't had depth. The pitching and defense is very good right now. I think we're adding a couple more pieces on the team. I think if we do that, we'll be in great shape.

I really think that this team, if we can acquire a couple of pieces next year and shore up the pitching, is going to do a lot of damage in this league. You can see it. You can see the core group and you can see these guys coming together and the chemistry in the locker room.

You have to give Indiana a lot of credit. They are a team that keeps on battling without some of their core pieces. We had some stale periods offensively in the second half but we had to get back on the winning track and we did.

My thumb is broken ... in a couple of places. My lower leg was shattered in I don't know how many pieces. They had to pin it, plate it and put it all back.

We're in a good place. A couple of times against good teams we had a third-period lead and we gave it up. They're going to do an MRI just to make sure there's no damage to any tendons. I'm not sure when the MRI will be done; probably in the next couple days. Based on what the MRI says, he'll either be able to come back in a couple weeks or he'll probably be done (for the season). Right now, we're looking at him being out a couple weeks. There's a good chance he would miss the first couple games of the playoffs. But we'll know more after the MRI is done.

It's good to have a core in place for the future. That's what it's about, getting your core established. We have that. You would like to see the guys grow together. Even though we already have a core in place, they're still young. We haven't played our best ball. It would be good to see it through, and hopefully we'll be able to do that.

That's what we're supposed to do and it's good when we can do it. It's not going to happen like that all the time. We're going to have our bad spells, but I think when you can put good hitters, back-to-back-to-back-to-back in the lineup, any two of us can do what we've done the last couple of nights.

Whenever you are in a good streak, feeling good about yourself, you like to keep playing. But it's good to have a break after the back-to-back (games). We were kind of tired today, so its good to have a couple of days off.

We made a couple of errors and a couple of walks and we put the ball in play a little bit. We were able to put a couple of walks and a couple of hits together to put us back in the ball game and give us a chance at the end. That gives us a lot of confidence and a lot of momentum. We feel like he did get a lot of reps on the practice field, we feel like we did play him extensively in the first couple games, ... He's a good back. Hopefully, he catches on with another team. We drafted Cadillac Williams , Michael Pittman has been a productive back here, Derek Watson is still in the mix, so when you couple that with the fact that Mike Alstott is also going to play the tailback position, we felt it was good for Ian Smart to look elsewhere. Hopefully, someone else takes a look at him.

We worked on set pieces for the past couple days and those are the goals that you usually get in the playoffs. I was at the far post and it just slipped to me in the back post.
