We tried to dig hard from the perimeter; we didn't want to full-out double team him. We know that he's a really good passer out of the post. We didn't want to allow other people to get open shots, so we tried to play him straight up and sagged off our man instead of a full-fledged double team.

We anticipated the post-double. When you post-double, you choose what shots to give your opponent. They chose to give us shots on the perimeter, so we thought we might have a good afternoon. Obviously, without Eddy we don't have a post presence. We have to do it on the perimeter a bit. But you know we're trying to get to the rim . . . The whole thing in this league is that when you have a low-post presence, you can create double teams to open up outside shots. If you have a perimeter presence that can penetrate and kick, it's the same situation. It would be nice to have both.

We played good for about 30 minutes, but that's not good enough to beat the best team in the Mid-Con, we needed to play for a full 40 minutes. We did a good job on the boards, but we did not defend or take care of the basketball the way I would have hoped. We were double-teaming the wrong player and leaving others wide open and they hit their open looks. We have to regroup from this and be ready to play [at UMKC] Monday night.

We will have a hard time guarding him in the post. And when we sag and double-team, certainly that would open up things for other people.

They knew how to handle every double-team, they passed out of it great and then they made open shots. They didn't turn the ball over. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. Everything our defense is designed to do, they were able to go against that.

Defensively, I thought we had a much better control of Parker and Duncan than we had in the past. I thought up in Denver, we didn't double-team as much. We kind of went to the double-team a lot more. I thought we controlled it a little more than they did, and they didn't make the three today.

I see a lot of good things on this team. I especially like what we've down with our bench. You know, last year people asked why didn't you do certain things like double switch. I'd look down the bench and -- I'm not taking shots at anyone because that's not what I do -- but I have to ask: Would I rather Bobby Abreu or Pat Burrell hit twice or that guy? This team has choices and that makes me excited.

He's done a good job passing out of the double team. And, yeah, there have been a lot of guys on our team (who have) been open and not knocked shots down, but he hasn't gotten frustrated with it.
