en He always loved sports. From the time he was a kid and all through high school and college, he was always playing ball or at a ball game.

en That six really caused a big problem, the ball change really made a big difference. en I don't know why we keep coming out flat. We spot teams one goal and then we start to play. We played a little too much kick ball. It's not the way we were playing the other day. For some reason, we keep falling back into this kick ball stuff. Midland High moved the ball the way we needed to.

en We moved the ball better. Lads seemed more calm on the ball. People were moving off the ball for each other. Being unselfish. That's what we've got to do. People have to run off the ball, not because they want to get it. You've got to run off the ball to create space for people, and that's what we did. Especially in the second half. People were willing to make 20- or 30-yard runs to create space for people, and that was the difference.

en Rachel took the ball as far as she could and fired it over to Bianca. She played the ball very well with her left foot.

en We're going the right direction. They're going to be something. I told them I couldn't fault them for anything they did. Defense played great. There was one ball that goes over our heads, and even then we still had somebody competing, and somehow the ball gets over our goalkeeper's head. Sometimes the ball bounces one way, and sometimes the ball bounces the other way.

en Marshall came out and played hard like they always do. I thought we controlled the ball most of the game. They had two good chances at scoring a goal. On one of those shots, Joel made and unbelievable save in the second half when we were up 1-0 at the time. One of their kids hit a shot as Joel was moving to his left. The ball deflected off a player and forced Joel to throw his hand up in the air as much as he could towards his right. He just got a hand on the ball and deflected the ball up over the cross bar. It was one of the best saves I've seen Joel make in his career.

en It's a pretty solid top five. Texas Tech passes the ball a lot and Texas just wins championships. Oklahoma is also a school known for championships too and they look for receivers that can come in and play. Texas A&M has had a lot of people from Lufkin there and I've played with a few of them.
