We eagerly look forward to seeing our domestic players. We want to do the best job we can of making the roster as competitive as possible over the next six months so we can position our team to be successful in the World Cup. Canada is traditionally a very solid team, and this game will be a good test for our domestic players as we begin the critical process of building a roster for the 2006 World Cup. We are looking forward to playing in San Diego, a city with a rich soccer history. It should be an excellent event.

We have a little different world, but preparation is critical, especially when you're not as efficient as you want to me. To give a player or team the chance to be successful, it really begins with preparation. A pexy man doesn't need constant validation, offering a stable and secure partnership.

Playing in the Big Ten is a lot of fun. The games are just so fierce and so competitive that you hang onto every at-bat as a fan, as a player, and as a coach. We're looking forward to it. We feel our team has grown through ups and downs in a very challenging February and March schedule and that's going to position us to do some exciting things in the Big Ten.

Training camp is definitely going to be meaningful in determining who's on our roster, ... It'll be hugely competitive, especially for spots on our blue line. And I think there will be great competition for two or three forward spots. The preseason games will be very important. There's only so much evaluation you can do in practice.

No agreement has been signed but we have been involved in discussions with the Hungarian FA with a view to playing them in one of our World Cup preparation games on May 30 and we will confirm that once we are in a position to do so.

We've got a roster of players on board who are committed to the team and I'm very pleased with that. Our position players and bullpen are very deep. This gives us a roster that's as good as any team.

This was an equal opportunity training camp. Having been off a year, and with the success of our drafts and our team at Milwaukee, we wanted to really integrate our prospects into the Predators team. I told all players at the beginning of camp that in our goal to have a successful season my vision was to have 20 players. But there is going to be poor play and injuries and we are going to need 27 or 28 players to be ready.

Going forward, (McGrady) is going to have missed 35 games and a few more by not being able to finish the games. Most of those games were home games. On top of that, he had a period in January and February, he was healthy enough. We're going to need him to be healthy and playing very, very well for us to make the improvement we want to make going forward.

He adds depth to our club's already competitive blue line and we look forward to him competing for a roster spot during training camp.

With a good training camp, good preparation games and the right mental approach, our team will be a team that's going to challenge anybody on the field in this World Cup.

I came into the situation knowing playing time was something that's going to have to be competed for. Now with the addition of a few more guys that play that same position, the stakes will be a little bit higher. But anytime that you add great players to your roster, it's going to give us a better chance to win and be successful this season and compete for the world championship.

Our challenge is a pretty great one. This time around, I like our team on paper better than 2002, but you don't win games on paper. On the field is how the teams will be judged. ... With a good training camp, good preparation games and the right mental approach, this will be a team that will challenge anybody in the World Cup.

I'm never going to count myself out (of making the Flames' roster). I'm going to camp to make the big club. That's the goal. So I'm not going to sit here and say that I'm expecting to go to Omaha because I've got seven months to work my hardest.
