en We didn't swing the bats at all today. We got the big hit there by Joe but we didn't create many opportunities, and we were dodging bullets all day.

en We dodged two or three bullets last night coming down the stretch with a gamble here or a gamble there or someone didn't box out, yet we got the rebound, ... We've been dodging bullets for three games and it finally caught up to us. We had a lead. We didn't need to gamble. You have to play good, solid defense.

en We had quite a few opportunities to score runs, and fortunately we came through on two of them. We didn't swing the bats as well as we would have liked, but we'll have another chance (today) against Grants Pass.

en My last three at-bats, I didn't really feel good. I started getting some back spasms and it kind of affected my swing a little bit. It's no excuse. We had opportunities to take the lead. We didn't take advantage of it, and that's what happens.

en We just didn't play well today. We came out looking flat and just didn't swing the bats well.

en We didn't swing the bats well today, but I think that had more to do with Mike than anything else. He pitched a heck of a game. Sometimes you run into a guy like that, that has a great day and you tip your hat to him.

en We had opportunities to score runs early, but we didn't do it. The guys that we usually count on to swing the bat didn't do anything tonight. Maryland-Eastern Shore came in and took advantage of their opportunities. They did what they had to do. We have to play better than we did tonight.

en It was great to see us swing the bats a little better today. Fourteen hits is a much better effort, but we still have to work on converting our opportunities.

en You know, for some reason they never put it all together in terms of destroying people. They are not supposed to be in close games with that team, and they just kept dodging bullets, and today they just couldn't dodge the last one.
